Former France international and Manchester United star Paul Pogba has made a deeply personal revelation, sharing how his life unraveled after being banned from football—losing not just his career spotlight, but also his marriage.
In an emotional account, Pogba reflected on the aftermath of his suspension from football, revealing how quickly his circle of friends and supporters vanished once his fame and fortune faded.
“When I got banned from football, everything in my life changed. The fame was gone, the spotlight faded, and just like that, people disappeared,” he shared.
The World Cup winner, once among the most celebrated names in global football, expressed how the silence from once-close friends was painful—but not as painful as being abandoned by his wife.
“The woman I thought would stand beside me when life got dark simply walked away,” Pogba said. “She was only there for the money and fame.”

The 31-year-old midfielder admitted the experience left him broken but also awakened.
“I was no longer ‘Pogba the star,’ so people treated me like I didn’t matter. It felt like everything I built just fell apart in front of me. But maybe that’s what I needed. That season of pain helped me see people for who they really are.”
Now, Pogba says he has made peace with his new reality. With the “fake friends” and “noise” gone, he claims to have found strength in solitude.
“I now know I’m walking this journey alone, and that’s okay. I’ve found strength in silence.”
