The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) on Thursday carried out an enforcement operation, sealing off several establishments across Lagos State for persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations harmful to public health and safety.
The enforcement drive covered key areas including Victoria Island, Elegushi Beach, and Lekki Phase 1 Admiralty Way, targeting facilities repeatedly found in breach of environmental regulations. Affected establishments included lounges, bar, hotels, mini football facility, and beach club, all of which were shut down for contravening environmental protection laws.
Some of the establishments sealed during the operation included: Mania Lounge, Voda Beach Club, Meadow Hall School, Jennifer Smith Lounge, Chobz Bar, Ecuador Restaurant & Lounge, Blu Atlantic Hotel, Lift Social House, and Red Bar.
LASEPA General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, who briefed the press after the operations , reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance policy for environmental infractions.
He noted that noise pollution and related violations negatively impact the well-being and peace of residents, adding that Thursday’s action reflects the agency’s firm resolve to enforce compliance to protect public health.
Dr. Ajayi urged businesses and institutions across the State to strictly follow environmental regulations, reaffirming LASEPA’s unwavering dedication to building a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Lagos for all.
