In a major move aimed at revitalizing Kano Pillars Football Club, the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the appointment of renowned international footballer, Ahmed Musa as the new General Manager of the club.
Musa, a former Super Eagles captain and a household name in Nigerian and international football, returns to the club where he made a mark early in his career. His appointment is part of strategic efforts to strengthen the team ahead of the forthcoming Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
According to a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the appointment of Ahmed Musa follows extensive consultations with stakeholders and reflects the government’s commitment to repositioning Kano Pillars FC as a top contender both locally and internationally.
The Governor also approved the reconstitution of the club’s management board, following the expiration of the previous one-year tenure which saw the team finish 9th in the NPFL. Most members of the previous board have been reappointed for continuity, with a few strategic adjustments.
