The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has firmly denied recent rumours suggesting an impending defection of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke or key party structures to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
In an official statement issued by the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Sunday Bisi, the party described the speculation as “baseless and mischievous,” attributing it to elements within the opposition who are allegedly unsettled by the ongoing developmental strides under the Adeleke administration.
“This falsehood is the handiwork of jittery political actors seeking to distract the people of Osun State from the significant progress being made across the state,” the statement read. “Governor Adeleke and the PDP remain united, focused, and fully committed to the mission of rebuilding and transforming Osun.”
The party reassured its members, supporters, and the general public that there is no division within its ranks, emphasizing that the PDP in Osun remains “intact, cohesive, and stronger than ever.”
Reacting to the anxiety generated by the rumour, Hon. Bisi stated that the Adeleke-led administration continues to uphold its open-door policy, fostering inclusive governance and engaging with citizens in all areas of decision-making.
“The people of Osun State are at the heart of every policy decision we make. We hear your voices, value your feedback, and are committed to addressing your concerns with transparency and sincerity,” he said.
The PDP urged the public to ignore what it described as attempts by “rejected politicians and agents of retrogression” to destabilize the administration’s focus on service delivery and community development.
Concluding the statement, Hon. Bisi expressed gratitude to the citizens for their unwavering support and reaffirmed the party’s dedication to the collective vision of a prosperous Osun State.
“The Adeleke administration, backed solidly by the PDP, will not be distracted. Our commitment remains to the people, to good governance, and to the upliftment of every community across Osun.”
