The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a major victory in Olorunda Local Council Development Area as its chairmanship candidate, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon (APK), was officially declared winner of the just concluded local government election held on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

According to the official results released by the electoral body, Hon. Kumayon polled a total of 28,799 votes, defeating other contenders and affirming the overwhelming support of the electorate.

The announcement sparked widespread celebration among party loyalists, supporters, and community stakeholders who described the victory as a reward for hard work, consistency, and the unshakable unity within the APC family in Olorunda LCDA.

Reacting to the outcome, local party leaders and community members hailed the result as “the people’s mandate”, expressing optimism that Hon. Kumayon’s administration would bring a fresh wave of development, transparency, and inclusive governance to the council.

“This is not just a win for our candidate, but a win for the people of Olorunda. It is a testament to our collective efforts, the strength of our grassroots mobilization, and the trust reposed in the APC,” a party official stated.

The newly elected chairman is expected to assume office in the coming days, as preparations begin for a smooth transition of leadership.
