The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects in connection with the brutal murder of a Chinese national, Mr. Chen Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd., located in Ogere, Ogun State.
Mr. Wang was found dead in his office on January 12, 2025, after the Ogun State Police Command received a distress call. Preliminary investigations revealed that the 41-year-old victim died from multiple stab wounds to the chest.
Acting on the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) was deployed to support detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran.
In a statement through Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, said the joint effort led to a breakthrough in the case after weeks of coordinated intelligence gathering.
According to police investigations, two factory workers identified as 25-year-old Yunusa Abdullahi from Borno State and 20-year-old Peace Keno Danlami from Taraba State allegedly took advantage of low staff presence during an overtime shift to disable the company’s security system. They then gained unlawful access to Mr. Wang’s office, where they reportedly carried out the fatal attack. The suspects also stole the keys to the victim’s residence, which they later burgled before fleeing the state with cash and other valuables.
The duo was tracked and apprehended on July 14, 2025, in Jos, Plateau State, where they had been hiding under false identities. Their arrest followed weeks of technical surveillance, biometric analysis, and human intelligence work by operatives of the Force Headquarters and Ogun State SCID.
Commending the success of the operation, the Inspector General of Police lauded the efforts of the Force Technical Intelligence Unit and the Ogun State Police Command, describing the investigation as a demonstration of the Force’s commitment to professionalism and justice. He reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to protecting all residents of Nigerians and foreigners alike through proactive and intelligence-led policing.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
