The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof-Oloyede, has officially received his certificate of return, confirming his re-election for a second term following the local government polls held on Saturday, July 12.
The certificate was presented to him by the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile, at a formal ceremony held on Wednesday at exactly 1:00 p.m.
Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Fadekemi Oloyede, the re-elected chairman appeared in full traditional agbada attire, receiving warm applause from supporters and party stalwarts present, including the Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who posed for photographs with the council boss.
In a brief media chat after the presentation, Otunba Oloyede expressed gratitude to residents for their support and promised to build on the achievements of his first term.
“I am committed to surpassing our previous performance. Oshodi-Isolo must be greater in my tenure, and I will not relent until we achieve the Oshodi of our dreams — a community with positive narratives,” he stated.
He also appreciated the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the state level for respecting the decision of party delegates who overwhelmingly supported him during the primaries.
The chairman dedicated his electoral victory to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his consistent guidance and support throughout his political journey.
“This victory is a referendum on our four-year administration,” he said. “I thank the party for upholding the delegates’ decision, and I assure you, I won’t let you down. To my leader and father, President Bola Tinubu, I am grateful for your unwavering support. I will remain loyal and committed.”
Otunba Oloyede also extended heartfelt appreciation to the residents of Oshodi-Isolo, assuring them that his second term will mark the continuation of impactful governance.
“To the people who voted for us, this marks the beginning of more progress. I thank you for your support before, during, and after the election. I will not fail you,” he concluded.
