In what has been described as a game-changing move, Kano Pillars Football Club has unveiled a landmark partnership with Radio France Internationale (RFI) Hausa, a leading international media organisation.
The one-season kit sponsorship deal is reportedly valued at ₦100 million, marking the first such sponsorship by RFI.
LAGOS EYE NEWS reports that under the terms of the agreement, the club will receive ₦45 million in cash, while RFI will provide full kits for the entire season. Each player will don a new set of jerseys in every match, with the option to gift them to fans or beneficiaries afterward a gesture expected to boost fan engagement and community goodwill.
In addition to the kit deal, RFI Hausa will equip the club’s media department with state-of-the-art tools and offer comprehensive training to boost the club’s communications and media presence. The organisation has also committed to giving full publicity to all club activities throughout the season.
The partnership was formalised in Kano, with Kano Pillars FC General Manager and Nigerian football icon, Ahmed Musa, and the club secretary signing on behalf of the team.
RFI Hausa was represented by Editor-in-Chief Bashir Ibrahim Idris and Coordinator Joe Penney, who both expressed their organisation’s excitement about the partnership.
The RFI Hausa logo will be prominently displayed on the front of Kano Pillars’ home, away, and alternate jerseys. It will also feature across official team branding, media backdrops, and promotional materials — a visibility boost that reflects the depth of the collaboration.
Significantly, the deal covers all tiers of the club, including the B team, Junior Pillars, and youth squads (U19, U15, U13), emphasizing a long-term developmental vision.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Ahmed Musa described the deal as a “new dawn” for the club. “This partnership reflects our ambition to elevate Kano Pillars to new heights, both on and off the field,” he said.
RFI Hausa’s Coordinator, Joe Penney, reinforced the commitment of the media house to the club’s future. “We believe in Kano Pillars’ vision and are proud to support its journey toward excellence,” he stated.
