The Ijebu Ode Local Government has refuted claims circulating on social media and within the community regarding the alleged closure of all markets in the area for 75 days.
In an official statement signed by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, the local government described the report as false and unfounded, emphasizing that no such directive has been issued by the council or any recognized authority.
“We categorically deny this rumor and assure the public that no such directive has been issued,” the statement read.
Market leaders, traders, and residents have been urged to disregard the misinformation and continue their lawful business activities without fear.
The council further stated that any decisions regarding market operations will be formally announced through verified government channels.
Residents were also cautioned against spreading unverified information capable of causing unnecessary panic or disrupting public order.
