The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has issued a strong warning to the public regarding the activities of fraudsters demanding money in exchange for teaching appointments within the Lagos State Government.
In an official statement, the Permanent Secretary of TESCOM, Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, cautioned job seekers and members of the public not to fall prey to individuals or groups claiming to facilitate employment, shortlisting, or the sale of TESCOM teaching slots.
She clarified that while the online application process for the recruitment of teachers into the Lagos State Public Service has recently concluded, the Commission has not yet commenced the shortlisting of candidates.
Oyekan-Ismaila stressed that the recruitment exercise is strictly merit-based and free of charge, adding that any attempt to solicit money in the name of TESCOM is fraudulent and should be reported immediately.
She also urged the public to disregard misleading messages being circulated via WhatsApp and other social media platforms that falsely claim to offer shortcuts or insider access to TESCOM job opportunities.
“The public is advised to remain vigilant and cautious. TESCOM does not require or accept monetary gratification for employment, and anyone promising such assistance is a scammer,” she stated.
