The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has charged the depot of the Nigerian Army in Osogbo to ensure effective training and professionalism in producing top-notch soldiers.
Oluyede gave the charge during his maiden operational visit to the depot on Monday.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Appolonia Anele.
The COAS urged officers and instructors to align with his vision of enhancing the Nigerian army’s capabilities in discharging its constitutional responsibilities.
He said that the quality of soldiers produced reflects directly on the Army’s image and national security.
He charged them to train the recruits with passion, focusing on capacity development with the sole aim of producing high quality personnel.
The COAS toured and inspected the training facilities and infrastructure within the Depot.
He also assessed the current state of readiness and identifying areas for improvement with the aim of boosting the army’s operational readiness and performance
