In a strategic move to enhance communication efficiency and reduce emergency response time, the Federal Fire Service (FFS) has officially unveiled a new set of modern handheld walkie-talkies.
The launch ceremony, held on Monday at the Service’s Headquarters in Abuja, was presided over by the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Engr. Jaji O. Abdulganiyu. He emphasized the agency’s commitment to strengthening operational capacity in line with global best practices.
“The acquisition of these advanced communication tools will go a long way in ensuring our firefighters respond more promptly and effectively to distress calls,” Engr. Abdulganiyu said during his address.
He also expressed profound appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Interior, led by the Honourable Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for supporting the initiative and providing the communication devices.
He urged for continued collaboration to further equip the Service with cutting-edge tools necessary for efficient service delivery.
A key highlight of the event was a practical demonstration by fire personnel, showcasing the use of the new walkie-talkies and familiarizing officers with their features and operational handling.
The launch represents a significant milestone in the ongoing modernization efforts of the Federal Fire Service, aimed at improving emergency response and service delivery across the country.
