APC Shifts NEC Meeting to Presidential Villa, Adjusts Time|LAGOS EYE NEWS

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a change in the venue and time of its forthcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2025.

Initially planned to hold at the party’s national secretariat on Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja, the NEC meeting will now take place at 2:00 PM at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

This adjustment was confirmed in a statement issued Wednesday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, who cited logistical reasons for the change.

“The change of venue from the party’s National Secretariat to the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, is due to logistical reasons,” Morka said.

The meeting comes at a critical time for the ruling party, which is expected to address a leadership vacuum following the resignation of former National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, in June. Ganduje stepped down citing health concerns.

Party sources indicate that Acting Chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori, may continue to serve in an interim capacity until a formal elective convention is convened.

In addition to resolving leadership issues, the NEC is also expected to deliberate on several strategic agenda items, including updates on the party’s Renewed Hope initiative, reports from the Constitution Review Committee, and progress on the nationwide e-registration drive all seen as vital steps as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Preparations are currently underway at the Banquet Hall to host what is expected to be a high-level and consequential gathering of the APC leadership.
