EPL: Tension at Brentford as Yoane Wissa Refuses to Train Amid Transfer Uncertainty |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Brentford forward Yoane Wissa is expected to return to the club on Thursday alongside the rest of the squad following their pre-season training camp in Portugal. However, reports suggest the striker has no intention of participating in training sessions.

According to Sky Sports News, Wissa is said to be angry and disappointed with the club’s handling of his future, amid ongoing transfer interest from Newcastle United. The 27-year-old left Brentford’s pre-season camp early last week to hold talks with club officials after Newcastle submitted a £25 million bid, which was subsequently rejected.

Brentford are reportedly unwilling to sanction Wissa’s departure, particularly after the recent £71 million transfer of fellow forward Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United. The West London club is determined to retain Wissa as they face a summer of significant changes, with former head coach Thomas Frank and club captain Christian Norgaard also exiting in recent weeks.

While Wissa remains hopeful that Newcastle will renew their pursuit, sources indicate the Magpies are currently exploring alternative attacking options as Brentford maintain a firm stance that the striker is not for sale.
