Dolores “Dodie” Osteen, the beloved matriarch of Lakewood Church and a spiritual inspiration to millions, has passed away peacefully at the age of 91.

In a heartfelt announcement on his social media account, Joel and Victoria Osteen, along with their family, confirmed her passing due to natural causes at her home.

Fondly known as “Mama Dodie” by the Lakewood congregation and beyond, she was revered for her unwavering faith, compassionate heart, and decades of dedicated service to the church community.

“We celebrate her amazing life and lasting legacy,” the Osteen family shared, honoring her memory as both a cherished mother and grandmother, and a guiding light to many around the world.

Dodie Osteen was Lakewood Church’s co-founder and wife of the late John Osteen. She and her husband founded Lakewood Church in 1959.
