Victor Osimhen Becomes Most Expensive Signing in Turkish Football History |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen has officially become the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, completing a permanent move to Galatasaray from Serie A side Napoli in a record-breaking €75 million deal.

The Turkish champions announced the landmark signing on Wednesday, smashing the previous Süper Lig transfer record of €19.5 million.

Osimhen’s arrival in Istanbul was met with a hero’s welcome as approximately 1.4 million fans turned out to greet the 26-year-old striker, a clear testament to his immense popularity and the high expectations surrounding his return.

The Nigerian forward rejoins Galatasaray following a sensational loan spell last season, during which he scored 37 goals in 41 appearances. His prolific form was pivotal in guiding the club to a historic domestic double, securing both the Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup.

Speaking to reporters upon his unveiling, Osimhen expressed his passion for the club and its supporters. “I fought so hard to return here. I continue to have that feeling; I continue to play with a purpose,” he said.

He also praised the Galatasaray faithful, calling them “the best in the world.” He added, “Just look at the crowds that come to see one player. It shows the amount of love they have for me.”

Osimhen vowed to give his all in the new season, as Galatasaray eyes continued domestic dominance and a deeper run in European competitions.

LAGOS EYE NEWS reports that his signing marks a major statement of intent from the Istanbul club as they prepare for the upcoming campaign with renewed ambition.
