Makinde: My Administration Will Continue to Appoint Based on Capability, Not Bias |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Governor of Oyo State Gov.Seyi Makinde has restated his administration’s commitment to upholding merit, capability, and excellence in appointments, stating that his government prioritizes talent over sentiment, bias, or ethnic considerations.

The governor made this known on 5th of August 2025 while inaugurating members of the Oyo State Judicial Service Commission at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

He emphasized that his government will continue to employ people who can contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the state, regardless of their political learning or state of origin.

“Wherever we can find talent that can add value to us as a state, I will go for such a person,” the governor said.

He urged the newly sworn-in commission members to bring their expertise and commitment to bear in advancing the judicial system and the larger interests of the state.

He therefore appointed the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima as Chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission, with Mrs M.O. Abdulganiyu appointed as Secretary.

Other members of the commission include the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Abiodun Aikomo; Mr Musibau Adetunji; Chief Joshua Abioye; Chief Moyosore Ajani; and Mr. Wahab Adedigba.
