The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has commended three Nigerian teenagers for emerging as world champions in English language communication and debate at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Competition held in London, United Kingdom.
The trio 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli clinched top honours at the prestigious international event.
Nafisa was named overall best in English language skills, Rukayya earned the title of overall best in debate, while Hadiza received the Outstanding Talent Award (Gold Medal).
Describing the teenagers as “super talents,” Speaker Abbas said their exceptional performance had brought pride and honour to Nigeria on the global stage.
He noted that the achievement reaffirms the country’s immense potential and the ability of young Nigerians to excel when provided with the right opportunities and enabling environment.
The Speaker linked the girls’ success to a recent wave of Nigerian female excellence, following the D’Tigress’ triumph at the 2025 FIBA Afrobasket and the Super Falcons’ victory at the 2025 WAFCON.
He said these developments had strengthened his advocacy for the empowerment of the girl child and gender inclusion in national politics and administration.
Reiterating his commitment to the development of the education sector, Speaker Abbas emphasized the critical role of basic education in shaping future leaders and innovators.
He called for the proper recognition and celebration of academic excellence, urging the creation of a structured reward system for Nigerians who bring global acclaim to the country through intellectual and creative achievements.
Speaker Abbas congratulated Nafisa, Rukayya, and Hadiza on their remarkable feat, calling them worthy ambassadors of Nigeria and role models for other young people.
