The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has blacklisted renowned Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, over alleged violation of airport security protocols.
Effective immediately, the sanction bars the veteran performer from using any airport within Nigeria for a period of six months.
According to a preliminary report by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the incident occurred during an attempt by the artist to board a ValueJet Airlines flight.
The report alleges that K1 was in possession of a flask containing a liquid suspected to be alcohol, which accidentally spilled on airport security staff and the aircraft’s pilot, sparking a confrontation that led to his refusal of boarding.
The report further stated that the act constituted a breach of aviation safety standards and passenger conduct rules, prompting disciplinary action by the NCAA.
However, K1 De Ultimate has denied the allegations. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the music icon insisted that the flask contained plain water, not alcohol, as claimed by FAAN officials.
