A 35-year-old man, Oyewunmi Olanrewaju, who allegedly stole Aluminum tent,valued at N5 million has been arraigned before an Ota Magistrates ‘ Court in Ogun on Monday.
Olanrewaju,whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Aug.1, at about 5.08 p.m. at Canaanland, Ota.
Adaraloye alleged that the defendant was caught by security guards in the process of stealing a tent, belonging to the Living Faith Church.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like sum.
She said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
The case was adjourned until Aug.18, for further hearing.
