The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the pivotal role of traditional institutions in safeguarding communities and strengthening national security.
Receiving the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, and his wife at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, Egbetokun assured traditional rulers of deeper collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force to foster grassroots inclusivity, sustainable peace, and community development.
In a separate engagement, the IGP hosted the Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Michal Cygan, alongside senior executives from W-B Group, a leading Polish security solutions provider.
Discussions focused on deploying an integrated communication platform to enhance the ICT capacity of the Nigeria Police Force, in line with the IGP’s strategy for technology-driven, intelligence-led crime fighting.
Egbetokun reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a professionally competent, service-driven, and law-compliant Police Force, anchored on proactive policing, stakeholder partnership, and technological innovation.
