President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the names of Louis Odion and Ummasalma Isiyaku Rabiu to the Senate for confirmation as Executive Commissioners of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said Odion was nominated for the position of Executive Commissioner (Operations), while Rabiu was nominated as Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services). The nominations, he noted, are subject to Senate confirmation in line with the provisions of the FCCPC Act, 2018.
Odion, from Edo State, is a veteran journalist and former Senior Technical Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Media. He previously served as Edo State Commissioner for Information. He holds two Master’s degrees — one in Modern War Studies from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom, and another in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.
Rabiu, 35, from Kano State, is the founder of the Usir Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering underprivileged individuals and communities through education, skills development, and humanitarian initiatives. A Business Administration graduate, she is also a grassroots politician known for championing inclusive governance and promoting youth and women’s political participation.
