Multiple awards winning Nollywood actor, Olusegun Akinremi, popularly called Chief Kanran, has been reported to have passed on at the age of 69.
The actor, who became popular for his roles in movies and cinema, was said to have died barely three weeks to his 70th birthday celebration in the country.
Chief Kanran, aged 69, reportedly died in a Lagos hospital on Friday after a brief illness just three days before his 70th birthday.
A family source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the sad news but noted that, as of 5:00 p.m. on Friday, no official statement had been issued regarding his passing.
The celebrated Yoruba film icon was known for his outstanding contributions to Nollywood, with decades of performances that left a lasting imprint on Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
