Kwara Correctional Service Gets New Controller |LAGOS EYE NEWS

A new leadership has taken charge at the Nigerian Correctional Service, Kwara State Command, as Controller Tolorunshagba Femi Emmanuel officially assumed office on Monday, August 25, 2025.

His appointment was approved by the Controller General of Corrections, Slyvester Ndidi Nwakuche, MFR, mni, following the redeployment of the former Controller, Famuwagun Oyeniran Enitan. Famuwagun was recently elevated to the rank of Assistant Controller General of Corrections and posted to the Service’s National Headquarters in Abuja.

Controller Tolorunshagba, a native of Kabba in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, is a graduate of the University of Ado-Ekiti.

He began his career as a young officer at the Old Ilorin Prison, Oke-Kura, and has since held several key positions, including Officer-in-Charge of Kabba Prison and the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Ile-Ife, Osun State. He later served as Deputy Controller of Corrections in charge of Human Resources at the Kwara State Command Headquarters, Ilorin.

After his promotion to Controller of Corrections, Tolorunshagba was deployed to the Ekiti State Command, before being reassigned to Kwara State in his current role.

He is widely described as a disciplined and dedicated officer whose experience is expected to strengthen correctional operations across the state.

Announcing the appointment, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Adegbulugbe Philip O. (anipr), wished the new Controller a successful tenure.
