A 14-year-old girl has been charged after being found in possession of a bladed weapon in Dundee.
Police Scotland confirmed they received a report at around 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, of a youth carrying a weapon in St Ann Lane, Lochee, just off Coupar Angus Road in the city’s west end.
Officers attended the scene, where the teenager was identified and subsequently charged in connection with the incident. Police vehicles were later seen at the nearby Balgay Street car park as part of the investigation.
No injuries were reported, and authorities have not disclosed the type of weapon involved or details of the specific charges. The girl has been referred to the appropriate authorities, and the case remains under review.
The incident comes amid heightened concerns over youth violence in Scotland, an issue recently highlighted by the Daily Record’s “Our Kids … Our Future” campaign. As of August 25, no court date had been confirmed.
