The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) His Majesty Chapel, LP122, has equipped over 40 youths, women, and men in Ojokoro community with essential digital innovation skills.
The initiative, under the auspices of Digital Innovation For All (DIFA), formed part of the church’s Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aimed at helping people navigate the modern workforce and leverage digital tools for personal and professional growth.
The training featured seasoned technology professionals who shared their expertise across various fields.
Abidemi Ajiboye, a software and data engineer with over 17 years of experience in banking, telecommunications, and fintech, led a session on “Smart Thinking: Using Innovation and Tech to Stay Ahead.” He emphasised the growing demand for digital literacy in today’s workplaces.

“Most jobs now require at least basic digital literacy,” Ajiboye said. “Digital skills allow you to connect, collaborate, and compete internationally without limits. Entrepreneurs can leverage e-commerce and social media to expand their reach, while students can gain unlimited access to knowledge. But beyond technology, it is God who gives wisdom and helps us truly stay ahead.”
In another presentation, titled “Don’t Click the Link – Understanding the Anatomy of Online Scams,” a Software Developer with GrazieApp IT Solution, Victor Olayemi warned participants about the dangers of online fraud.
He identified common threats such as phishing, romance scams, and investment fraud, urging vigilance. “The internet is like a marketplace full of both value and junk. We must be vigilant. Not every link should be clicked, and not every website can be trusted,” Olayemi cautioned.

Also Content strategist and social media manager, Michael Ayinla, encouraged attendees to apply their new skills practically. Using fashion designers and content creators as examples, he advised them on creating professional content even with limited resources.
“Consistency builds identity,” Ayinla said. “It’s not about expensive gadgets; it’s about how you use what you have. Even with a smartphone and good lighting, you can create professional content.”
The programme also provided hands-on training in key areas, including digital marketing and branding, cybersecurity, content creation, data science, graphic design, and photography.
Parish Pastor Tope Farotika expressed gratitude to the facilitators and encouraged participants to continue building on their knowledge.
“As men, women, and youths, we must be empowered with digital skills,” he said. “But remember, the only true source of wisdom is Jesus Christ.”

Other facilitators included Kehinde Fafure, CEO of TeeKay Best Imagery/Printing Company; Damilola Idowu, CEO of DamWare Computer Services; Mayowa Bello, a digital marketing expert; and Olumide Adebayo, Digital Ambassador with the African Development Bank’s C4E project, who also contributed their expertise to the initiative.
