President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the recall of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing recent management changes at the state-owned broadcaster.
This was disclosed in a statement by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Dembos, who was appointed by President Tinubu in October 2023, had briefly vacated the position following the shake-up in the agency.
He will now return to complete his three-year tenure.
Similarly, the President directed the reinstatement of Mr. Ayo Adewuyi as Executive Director of News. Adewuyi, appointed in 2024, is to continue in office until the end of his tenure in 2027.
The new directive nullifies earlier announcements of appointments into the positions of director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.
