A tragic accident at the Mabushi Bridge in Abuja has claimed the lives of a man, his wife, and their children following a confrontation with suspected roadside touts, popularly known as Agbero.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred after the man, who was driving with his family in a private vehicle, stopped at the Berger Roundabout in Wuse to pick up a relative.
The action reportedly infuriated the touts, who accused him of violating their rules.
In the ensuing altercation, one of the touts allegedly forced his way into the car and attempted to seize control of the steering wheel.
The struggle caused the vehicle to swerve violently before crashing into a bridge pillar at Mabushi.
The man, his wife, and their children were said to have died instantly in the crash.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident as investigations continue.
