The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced that a total of 20,464 candidates participated in the virtual assessment conducted across the country, with some engaging in various forms of malpractice.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Friday by the management, which noted that some candidates were caught violating the rules and regulations governing the exercise.
According to UNILAG, the 2025/2026 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) online screening exercise was held between September 1 and 4, 2025.
“Regrettably, some candidates engaged in various forms of malpractice, contrary to the guidelines governing the examination. In line with the university’s zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice, such candidates will, based on the outcome of our ongoing investigations and reviews, be rendered ineligible for admission.”
“Our official communication channels, as earlier indicated in the various instructions to candidates, remain open. For the avoidance of doubt, however, the university is in possession of verifiable evidence of infractions.”
“The University of Lagos reiterates its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the integrity of its admissions process,” the statement concluded.
