The State House on Monday announced the disengagement of Fegho John Umunubo, who served as Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy in the Office of the Vice President.
In a statement issued in Abuja by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information and Public Relations, the presidency said Umunubo’s disengagement takes immediate effect.
The statement further warned stakeholders in the digital and creative economy, both at home and abroad, as well as members of the public, to note that Umunubo no longer represents the administration in any capacity.
“Stakeholders and constituents of the digital and creative economy, at home and abroad, as well as the general public are hereby notified that Fegho John Umunubo, who hitherto had served as the Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy (Office of the Vice President), has been disengaged with immediate effect,” the statement read in part.
The announcement comes just days after Umunubo had publicly pledged loyalty to Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Tinubu administration, urging Nigerians to rally behind the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Reacting to the development, Umunubo took to Instagram shortly after the announcement, sharing a screenshot of the official release.
He captioned it: “It has been my honor to serve this country and the Creative Industry. Now I am free to fly.”
