The lawmaker representing Mushin Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Nureni Akinsanya, has donated educational materials to twenty-seven primary schools in his constituency.
Akinsanya, who led his team to the schools on Monday, said the materials would aid the pupils in their educational pursuits. He donated over 2,000 school bags, exercise books, and mathematical sets to the students.
Speaking on the initiative, Akinsanya said: “I am here today because this program is designed to welcome our children back to school. We are glad to have them back. Today, we demonstrated how to build a strong sense of identity for both students and parents.”
“We are doing this to also show our appreciation and to emphasize the importance of having good representation in the House of Assembly. We also promise that we will do even more in the future.”
“The heads of the schools have shared with us some of their real challenges, and I assured them that I will take action to address them.”
His message to the students was clear: “To all the students, believe in yourselves. Have confidence in your abilities, because you are the future. I pray that God will help you (children) to be strong, resilient, and capable of fulfilling their potential.”
He added: “On my part, I have conducted a needs assessment of schools in my constituency. No one will be left behind. It is part of our plan to ensure that all 27 schools in this constituency from Primary 1 to Primary 6 benefit from this initiative. My team is still working to ensure that all the students receive their Back-to-School packages without bias or segregation.”
The lawmaker also promised other activities to support education in the constituency, including scholarship schemes and youth development programs aimed at paving the way for educational prosperity.
Mrs. Omolayo, Head of Ojuwoye Community Primary School (Inclusive Special Unit), Mushin, commended the lawmaker for his tireless efforts to bring joy to the children through the Back-to-School initiative and his commitment to the welfare of pupils.
“Today, he came to welcome them back to school, and his presence truly lifted their spirits. The children are excited and delighted, and even the school management is overjoyed to have him with us. We sincerely appreciate his visit. For him to make out time to be here today shows his commitment to the children and to what we are doing here.”
She added: “In our school, we have children with diverse needs: those who are hearing impaired, visually impaired, intellectually disabled, autistic, physically challenged, and more. Thank you so much for coming to us. It is a joy to welcome the children back to school in your presence. You are highly appreciated.”
The schools covered included Ajenifuja Primary School, Abiodun Primary School, Agege Motor Road Primary School, Alakara Primary School, Kosy Bethel Primary School, Christ Central Primary School, Ojuwoye Public Primary School, St. Martins Primary School, among others.
