Authorities in Orange County, Florida, have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting of a 4-year-old boy that occurred last month in Apopka.

The suspect, identified as Rey Campos, is a convicted felon and reportedly the boyfriend of the child’s mother.

Officials confirmed that Campos has been taken into custody, and he is expected to face multiple charges, including felon in possession of a firearm and possibly child endangerment.

Investigators say they are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting including the exact location, what triggered the incident, and whether other individuals may have been involved.
