The Lagos State House of Assembly has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Chief Samuel Aina, a former Chairman of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government who served between 1999 and 2003.
Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Security and Strategy, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, announced the news during plenary on Tuesday, highlighting Aina’s notable achievements, including the construction of the edifice that currently houses the council secretariat.
In his tribute, Hon. Ajomale Oladipo, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II, described the late Aina as a leader of impeccable character and a figure worthy of emulation.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa, also paid glowing tribute, describing Aina as a father figure whose legacy remains enduring.
He directed the Clerk of the House, Barr. Olalekan Onafeko, to send a condolence letter to the bereaved family.
In a related development, Speaker Obasa expressed concern over the recent deaths among newly elected councillors in the state, urging political stakeholders to prioritize their health over political pursuits.
