The Chairman of Okemesi/Ido-Ile Local Council Development Area, Mr. Sunday Ajibade Owolabi, has taken a bold step to improve the learning environment by distributing grass-cutting machines, popularly called Grass Bruisers, to all secondary schools within the council area in Ekiti State.
The initiative, according to Hon. Owolabi, is aimed at easing the burden of grass cutting on school premises and promoting a clean and conducive learning environment for both students and staff.
He further assured that a second batch of the machines will soon be distributed to public primary schools in the area.
In reaction to the gesture, the Ajagemo of Okemesi Ekiti, Chief Taiwo Ariyibi, commended the council chairman for his support towards educational development.
Chief Ariyibi described Hon. Owolabi as a humanitarian whose background as a teacher has continued to influence his passion for education and community growth.
The traditional leader also urged the benefiting schools to handle the machines with care to ensure durability and effective use.
Beneficiary schools include Okemesi Grammar School, Okemesi Community High School, Fabunmi Memorial Secondary School, and Ajinare Grammar School, Ido-Ile Ekiti.
