I love my country, come what may,
Through trials dark, through night or day.
At sixty-five, her spirit stands,
Upheld by God’s unyielding hands.
Some say she’ll stumble, never rise,
They doubt her greatness, blind their eyes.
But they are not the ones who made
This land of promise, bright displayed.
Nigeria strong, you shall be great,
Beyond all fear, beyond all fate.
For every seed in dust concealed
Shall bloom again—a harvest field.
Let mocking voices fade away,
Their efforts fruitless, led astray.
Soon they shall see, with hearts ashamed,
The strength in you that can’t be tamed.
O Nigeria, land of pride, land of love
With hope and faith we stand beside.
May justice reign, may peace increase,
May love and progress crown with peace.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!
