The Sokoto State Government has suspended Dr. Larai Aliyu Tambuwal, Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu approved the suspension in a letter dated October 2, 2025, signed by the Ministry of Health’s Permanent Secretary, Ibrahim Haliru Dingyadi.

Dr. Bilyaminu Sifawa has been appointed Acting Executive Secretary with immediate effect.

No reason was given for Tambuwal’s suspension, but the shake-up signals a major shift in the leadership of Sokoto’s primary health care sector.
