Munich Airport Resumes Flights After Drone Sightings Cause Overnight Disruption |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Germany’s Munich Airport resumed flight operations on Friday morning after several drone sightings forced its closure overnight, marking the latest in a series of drone-related disruptions across European airspace.

Airports in Denmark, Norway, and Poland have recently suspended flights due to unidentified drones, while authorities in Romania and Estonia have accused Russia of involvement allegations Moscow has dismissed.

Munich became the latest airport to ground operations on Thursday night after multiple drones were detected in its airspace.

The shutdown led to the cancellation or diversion of more than 30 flights and left nearly 3,000 passengers stranded.

By early Friday, flights had restarted, with tracking websites showing departures from around 5:50 a.m. local time.

A spokesperson for German flag carrier Lufthansa confirmed that “flight operations have since resumed according to schedule.”

“Nineteen Lufthansa flights were affected either cancelled or re-routed because of the airport suspension,” the spokesperson added.
