President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of the Nigeria Police Training Institutes following his assent to the Police Force Training Institutions Establishment Bill 2025 (Amendment).

The President also signed into law the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (Amendment) Bill 2025.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio made the announcement during Tuesday’s plenary session.

According to Akpabio, “Further to our letter from the Clerk forwarding the authenticated copies of the Bill for Mr. President’s constitutional assent, I hereby return two copies duly signed by Mr. President, who has graciously granted assent, and affixed with the Seal of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This Act now establishes the Police Training Institutions in the various areas designated by the Nigerian Senate, he said.
