Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has called on the judiciary to embrace innovation and adopt technology in order to enhance the smooth dispensation of justice in the state.
The Governor gave the charge during the 2025/2026 legal year service held in Ibadan, reiterating his administration’s commitment to the rule of law, law enforcement, and the course of justice.
Represented by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Abiodun Aikomo, Makinde urged members of the judiciary to pursue timely justice delivery, uphold integrity and accountability, and remain steadfast in the ideals of fairness and equity.
Earlier, the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima, led members of the bar and bench in a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral of St. James the Great, Oke-Bola, to mark the commencement of the new legal year.
Justice Yerima commended Governor Makinde for his continued support to the judiciary, noting that the sector has recorded significant improvements under his administration.
