The management of the National Assembly has cautioned parliamentary workers against embarking on a planned protest as lawmakers resume plenary today, warning that any disruption of legislative activities will attract severe sanctions.
In a circular signed by the Secretary of Human Resources, Essien Eyo Essien, staff were advised to disregard calls for industrial action by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN).
The management also assured workers of their safety within the National Assembly complex.
However, some PASAN members have expressed dissatisfaction, accusing the management of intimidation and failure to address their welfare concerns. Their grievances include unpaid allowances and the non-implementation of a new salary structure.
