A former nun turned influencer, Lais Dognini, and ex-priest-in-training, Jackson Dognini, have revealed they are married, months after tying the knot in secret.

According to Brazilian outlet O Globo, the couple first crossed paths more than six years ago while serving in missionary spaces, though they never spoke at the time. Jackson had spent five years in seminary training for the priesthood, while Lais dedicated two years to life in a Carmelite convent.

Their paths converged after Lais left the convent to recover from depression. Jackson reached out, offering prayers and encouragement, and the two began exchanging messages that gradually developed into a friendship.

Jackson eventually chose to leave the seminary after deep reflection on his vocation. In April 2024, he and Lais began dating, became engaged in October, and secretly married in March this year.

The couple shared news of their union publicly for the first time on October 7, with Lais posting on Instagram:
“It doesn’t seem like much, right? But let’s face it, we’re adults now and we know what we want in life.”
