Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Announcing the move on Wednesday at the Executive Council Chamber of the Bayelsa State Government House, Diri did not disclose which party he will join next.
His decision is backed by 23 members of the state House of Assembly, led by the Speaker.
Diriās exit comes 24 hours after his Enugu State counterpart, Peter Mbah, left the PDP for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
