Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) has congratulated its Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Joash Amupitan, SAN, following his confirmation by the Nigerian Senate as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Professor Amupitan’s confirmation came after a successful screening session held on Thursday, at the National Assembly in Abuja.
In a statement released via the university’s official Facebook page, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor O.A. Fakolujo, described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Professor Amupitan’s outstanding leadership qualities, integrity, and unwavering commitment to national development.
“The Management, Staff, and Students of Joseph Ayo Babalola University rejoice with you on this remarkable achievement,” the statement read.
“We wish you a successful and impactful tenure as you contribute your wealth of experience to the advancement of democracy in our nation.”
Professor Amupitan, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is also an elder in the Christ Apostolic Church, serving at the English Assembly of CAC Home of Signs and Wonders, Dutse, Jos, under Orekoya Region.
