Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have recovered a large cache of electronic gadgets during a routine patrol in the Ikeja area of Lagos.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the recovery followed the interception of two fleeing suspects who abandoned two large “Ghana Must Go” bags upon sighting the RRS operatives near Allen Roundabout, Ikeja, at about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Upon inspection, the operatives discovered 32 iPhones of different models, 38 other smartphones—including Samsung, Redmi, Tecno, and Honor brands—five laptops, several smart wristwatches, AirPods, a Samsung Tab, a Sorapad, and a number of damaged phones suspected to have been stolen from various parts of Ikeja and its environs.
Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, CSP Shola Jejeloye, confirmed that preliminary investigations indicated the items were stolen, hastily abandoned by the suspects.
He urged members of the public who may have lost similar devices to visit the RRS Headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, with verifiable proof of ownership for identification and possible recovery.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Moshood Jimoh, commended the RRS operatives for their vigilance and professionalism.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, proactive crime prevention, and the enhancement of public safety across the state.
