The Government of the People’s Republic of China has lauded Nigeria for the successful rescue of four Chinese nationals abducted in Kwara State.
The victims were freed through a coordinated operation involving the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Police Force.
During the formal handover of the rescued victims in Abuja, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai represented by Consul Wang Jun commended the professionalism and swift response of Nigerian security agencies, particularly the DSS.
He also praised the Service for providing comprehensive medical care to the rescued individuals at its medical facility in Abuja.
Reports indicate that the victims, who were miners, were ambushed by armed bandits while en route to a mining site in Saminaka village, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Meanwhile, the DSS has intensified its nationwide crackdown on criminal networks.
The agency recently recorded major breakthroughs, including the interception of arms and ammunition in Delta State a development widely regarded as a demonstration of its dedication to national security and public safety.
