Lagos State has officially declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid, reaffirming its commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda a national development blueprint aimed at reforming governance and driving sustainable economic growth across the country and within the state.

The endorsement was made public on Tuesday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders’ Forum held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.

The event brought together top party leaders, lawmakers, council chairmen, and loyal party members in a carnival-like atmosphere, all united in expressing their collective backing for the President.

The motion for endorsement was moved by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, and seconded by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who led the state delegation, commended the unity of Lagos APC members and expressed optimism that the state’s declaration of support would send a strong message beyond its borders reaching Aso Rock and resonating across the nation.

Speaking earlier, former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), praised President Tinubu for his pivotal role in forming the APC, describing it as the only successful political merger in Nigeria’s history.

According to Fashola, “This meeting comes at a time when some of those who opposed our emergence are now attempting to form a coalition. They are beginning to realize how difficult it was to create the merger that produced the APC.

“History will show that it remains the only merger that has ever succeeded in Nigeria’s political landscape.”

He continued, “Every commendation is due to our leaders especially the President who made this party possible. Running a political party is one of the most challenging tasks, as it thrives on both numbers and the freedom of association. Those who successfully manage such institutions deserve our utmost respect and support.”

The Lagos APC’s endorsement further cements the state’s alignment with the Tinubu administration’s vision, signaling a strong show of solidarity as preparations for the next election cycle begin.
