President of the Republic of Namibia, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has relieved Honourable Natangwe Ithete of his duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, with immediate effect.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, the decision was made in line with Article 32(6) of the Namibian Constitution.
In the interim, President Nandi-Ndaitwah will personally assume responsibility for the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy to ensure continuity and effective coordination within the sector.
The President expressed appreciation to Hon. Ithete for his service to the Government and the people of Namibia. He will, however, continue to serve as a Member of Parliament.
The Presidency reaffirmed its commitment to sound governance, accountability, and the effective implementation of national priorities aimed at achieving sustainable and inclusive development.
