Operatives of the Lagos Island East Command of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) have arrested five suspected “Otaku” boys who were allegedly attempting to extort unsuspecting motorists around the Third Mainland Bridge, Ilubirin, and Sura Express areas.
The suspects were apprehended at about 8:09 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, during a routine patrol by LNSA officers.
Following the arrest, the suspects were transferred to the Adeniji Adele Police Station for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
A subsequent search of their hideout, located under the Ilubirin Express Bridge, led to the recovery of several items, including a LASSRA identification slip, a knife, and other dangerous objects believed to have been used in their illicit activities.
The General Manager of LNSA, Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents and motorists across Lagos State. He emphasized that LNSA will continue its proactive patrols and strengthen collaboration with other law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order in the state.
