The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has described the late Rev. Uma Ukpai as a true general in the army of God who has only “changed address” to be with his Maker.

Pastor Adeboye stated this on Monday during a condolence visit to the family of the late renowned evangelist, Rev. Uma Ukpai, who recently passed on.

In his words, Adeboye said, “I paid a condolence visit to the residence of my dear friend and brother, Reverend Uma Ukpai, who has gone to be with the Lord.”

He described Rev. Ukpai as “not just a minister of the gospel, but a true general in the army of our God, a man of unshakable faith, quiet strength, and uncommon humility.”

According to the RCCG leader, the life of Rev. Ukpai was “a living sermon, one that spoke louder than words a story of service, love for God’s people, and steadfast devotion to the Kingdom.”

Adeboye further noted that Rev. Ukpai had “fought the good fight and finished his course,” adding that he now rests “in the everlasting arms of the Almighty, where there is no more pain, no more striving only peace, joy, and glory.”

He also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family:

“To his beloved wife, Pastor Philomena Ukpai, and the entire Ukpai family, we extend our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies. May the Lord Himself wrap you in His unfailing love, comfort your hearts, and strengthen you in this valley of loss.”

Concluding his message, Adeboye said, “My friend has not died; he has only changed address moving from the field of battle to the presence of his Commander-in-Chief. He is home. He is at rest. He is in the arms of God Almighty.”
