Osun Governor Adeleke Presents ₦705.79 Billion 2026 Budget of Economic Transformation |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday presented a ₦705.79 billion Appropriation Bill for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.

The budget, christened “Budget of Economic Transformation,” aims to drive inclusive growth, sustainable development, and shared prosperity across the State.

Speaking, Governor Adeleke explained that the budget is anchored on the administration’s vision of building a robust, diversified, and resilient economy capable of improving the quality of life for all Osun residents.

According to him, the new fiscal plan consolidates on gains made in infrastructure renewal, human capital development, and social welfare.

“Out of the total ₦705.79 billion budget, ₦317.41 billion, representing 45 percent, is earmarked for recurrent expenditure covering salaries, pensions, and essential operational costs, The remaining ₦388.38 billion, or 55 percent, is allocated to capital projects designed to modernize infrastructure and stimulate economic growth across the State, he said.

Highlighting the progress made under his administration, Governor Adeleke disclosed that over 75 percent of ongoing road projects spanning more than 300 kilometres across the three senatorial districts have been completed.

He assured that no project would be abandoned, emphasizing his commitment to infrastructure continuity and completion.

The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensions, as well as the expansion of youth empowerment and social welfare programmes.

He noted that through the Imole Youth Corps, about 10,000 young people have been gainfully employed, while the Imole Medical and Surgical Outreach continues to deliver free healthcare services to thousands of residents.

Governor Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance, pledging continued collaboration with the State House of Assembly to make Osun a livable, prosperous, and modern state for all.
